Keeping Fit with our 10 @ 10
Our class is joining with thousands of other primary school classes all over Ireland and getting active for 10 minutes at 10am each day. The 10@10 is an Operation Transformation initiative to get children to do 10 minutes of exercise at 10am during the RTÉ One series and to continue the mini-workout into the future.
We had a brilliant day last week when Scott Ziglinski visited the school to teach us all about Mechanical Energy. He did this by getting us to design and build our own rollercoasters. We worked in groups and we all really enjoyed the science day.
St. Brigid's Day
The children in 5th class made their very own St. Brigid's crosses. They followed step by step instructions and discovered that they weren't as complicated as we thought would be to make.
Everyone in our class was delighted when Santa came to visit just before our Christmas Holidays!!!!!!
We all really enjoyed putting on our Christmas Show for our families.

Day Dreaming in 5th Class
We drew pictures of our favourite things and what we daydream about. Some of us are still day dreaming about our long summer holidays.
Women in History
In history, we learned about women who made a difference. We explored women such as Rossa Parks, Amelia Earhart, Mary Robinson, Mary Mc Aleese, Mother Teresa, Florence Nightingale and many more. We carried out projects on the woman who inspired us the most and presented them to the class. Some of us used PowerPoint presentations to present our projects.
City Scapes in One Point Perspective
Check out our Jack o' lanterns.
We made chocolate apples with sprinkles for Halloween. They were delicious!
We have been learning about the Romans in history. We designed these Roman villas which would have been found in Pompeii. There are mosaics on the floors and frescoes on the walls inside our pop up villas.
